Yippieeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Done, done, done, done, done!!!!! Not too shabby for my first lace project ever, hmmmmm?!? I feel very proud of myself. I can see the mistakes (and yes, I did straighten the blocking), but I think that means I should keep it instead of giving it away :-)
lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it!
I even love the fact that I am sleeping on the sofa because my bed is covered with pins and my room smells like wet wool :-)

And here's the picture of the postcard from my pal! It looks like such beautiful place. Just up my vacation alley, history and beauty in one package. Ahhhhh.......

Now, that's definitely a keeper! Absolutely beautiful, what a great job you did, especially as this is your first lace project! Congrats!

thanks for the comment :-)

I'm usually a loyal KH girl (I lived out in Alexandria when I was first learning to knit), but their early closing time is an extreme pain in my ass and I have been out of town the past few weekends

I was at Stitch DC in Cap Hill yesterday, and was so excited about the other things that I found that I completely forgot to even look for yarn needles.

I'll remember one of these days... hopefully!

Also, your lace shawl is BEAUTIFUL, and I'm super jealous! I'm still working up the courage to try something lace - I'm thinking of easing into it with Knitty's "I do" (in some less wedding-ish color, though).
